“Establishing solid foundations, achieving theoretical precision, excelling in specializations, emphasizing applied programming”

Curriculum Description:

Statistics is a crucial field of study in all research domains that involve data. It provides the principles and procedures necessary for accurate decision-making, particularly in today’s rapidly evolving digital age. The ability to make timely decisions supported by evidence and relevant information, while adhering to correct principles and theories, is essential across all dimensions of society. Statistical professionals play a vital role in organizational management and contribute to the overall development of a country.

The statistics program aims to produce graduates who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills applicable to real-world scenarios. The curriculum covers fundamental statistics, probability theory, applied regression analysis, introductory sample surveys, data analysis using statistical software packages, preliminary experimental design, research methods, special projects, and a wide range of elective courses. The program also offers outstanding minors such as statistical decision analysis, time series and forecasting, operational research, statistical quality control, biostatistics, stochastic processes, and general knowledge about insurance, financial markets, securities investment, life insurance mathematics, risk theory, and mathematics in finance and investment.

Teaching methodologies focus on practical applications of statistical analysis to real-world data. The program incorporates activities such as data simulation, study visits, internships, and special projects. These experiences aim to develop students’ research skills, decision-making abilities, and problem-solving capabilities across various fields. Graduates possess comprehensive knowledge and can pursue diverse career opportunities, as well as continue their education in various specialized fields. Additionally, the program aligns with the university’s mission of producing morally responsible graduates who contribute to society and the nation.
