Student graduated with a B.Sc. in Mathematics are expected to be well- equipped with the knowledge both abstract and operational in order to pursue their studies at higher level in their chosen fields. They are capable of efficiently working systematically and logically in applying their mathematical tools in their career. The scope of their work includes teaching, conducting research, computer programming, system analysis, actuarial science and other related work in mathematics.
Student graduated with a B.Sc. in Statistics are expected to be able to utilize statistical tools needed both theoretically and practically in statistical related field of work. They are also capable of pursuing their studies at higher level in their chosen fields. The scope of their work includes conducting research, data compilation and analysis and computer programming in both the private sector and governmental offices.
Student graduate with a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics are expected to have sufficient knowledge in Mathematics, Electronics, and Computer in order to adapt transferred technology and develop more technology of higher quality and efficiency. They are also capable of pursuing their studies at a higher level in their chosen fields. They are thus employed in the private sector and governmental offices where information technology personals are very much needed. The department of Mathematics and Statistics is also responsible for the M.Sc. program in Applied Statistics, The M.Sc. program in Pure Mathematics and the Ph.D. program in Statistics ( International Program.) Student graduated with an M.Sc. in Applied Statistics are expected to have sufficient skills of tools to successfully apply in the analysis of research work. The students graduated with a M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics are expected to have advanced knowledge in Mathematics as well as possessing high potential to study mathematics in higher level. Furthermore the graduate are also expected to carry out qualified researches in mathematics and relevant fields.
Students graduated with Ph.D. in Statistics are expected to be able a perform research leading to the discovery of the knowledge in applied statistics and they are expected to be able to develop new knowledge in both theoretical and applied Statistics. In addition, they are capable of conducting their own research, developing and improving their own field of work so as to be competitive and at the forefront.
